Sweetheart, look at all these colorful roses. I made them for you to wish you a happy Valentine's Day."

Chef Li Zequan is expressing his love to his girlfriend on videotape, with one thousand flour rose confections in his arms.

Li Zequan lives in southwest China's Sichuan Province, while his lover Luo Yuan lives in Beijing. The two young people have been in a relationship for over 8 years. As Valentine's Day approaches, Li conceived of the wonderful idea of making 1000 hand-made roses for his sweetheart.

He used over 100 kilogrammes of flour, syrup and vegetable juice as the raw materials. It took him 20 minutes to carve each and every rose.
